My poor hijacked motherboard...
Jul. 15th, 2004 09:44 pmAll seemed well in computerland when I checked my email this morning, put up an away message on AIM and then went to work for the day. This afternoon, when I arrived home, I found 70 web browser windows open and porn splashed all over my screen. This led me to frantically scrub my hard drive as I tried to remove every bit of malware I could find. I also switched free anti-virus programs, seeing as how the one I had installed wasn't doing its job very well.
Of course, I should have the anti-virus/firewall package that I bought installed on my machine right now. Why don't I? Well, like all of my other packages, UPS is holding it hostage. I get to drag my ass out to rundown suburbia and pick it up after work tomorrow.
At least my computer seems to be okay for the moment. Someone needs to make an anti-virus/anti-adware/anti-spyware/firewall/pop-up blocker suite and call it "internet condom."
