I just got back from an eight-hour drive through the Adirondacks with a friend of mine. We left around midnight and finally got back to Potsdam a few minutes ago. Suffice it to say that, in the middle of the night, the isolation of the mountains is quite unnerving (especially when one is running low on fuel and desperately searching for 24-hour gas station). However, watching the sun rise over the mountain range is quite breath-taking. I don't feel like sleeping right now, even though I probably should at least take a nap.
