The holidays are coming - oneth by next Thursday and twoith by sometime in December, depending on your religious alignments. As the December festivities are usually accompanied by the most vulgar displays of capitalism as a substitute for goodwill ever concocted, the music industry is fully prepared to transfer your hard-earned dollars into their pockets. As a general rule of thumb, should you decide to purchase an album for a loved one, I would avoid any band whose image could land then in Rock And Roll Confidential's Hall of Douchebags. Fear not, though, as these fine artists have prepared greatest hits albums just in time for the holiday season:

For those with [less mainstream] taste in music, John Waters is releasing a Christmas compilation. I expect that this album would go well with Dr. Demento's Christmas Compilation. Finally, for those of you who are just as disgusted as I am about what the next month will bring, you can put on some punk rock and get blasphemous as you think about how The Damned will be lighting up the Cambridge, England civic Christmas display, despite the objections of local clergy.
