Given his unwillingness to abdicate his position until his death, I am beginning to believe that the health problems of Pope John Paul II are God's way of telling him that it's time to retire. One would think that he'd get the message. Then again, it was Rowan Atkinson who made us aware that all Christians (including Catholics) are going to Hell, "because the Jews were right."

I'd say then that he had a Job complex, except that he's yet to ask any questions (to our knowledge).
