Hidden charges
Sep. 10th, 2002 11:50 amI've always wondered why I was getting a monthly service charge from the phone company the campus uses when all my calls are local and all of my long-distance is on a calling card. When I called the company, they said that it was because I had a voice mail box and nothing more. I just called the Telecom offices to have my voicemail shut off. They tell me that this won't remove the monthly charge, because that pays for my ability to call off-campus and to receive calls from off-campus as well as have a voice mail box. Not only that, but I can't reduce the monthly bill by getting rid of only one thing because it all comes as a package. Once again, I've been dicked about by SUNY Potsdam.
