In this corner...
Apr. 1st, 2003 08:28 pmMy new temp assignment started yesterday evening. I'm working at the Pittsburgh branch of the Federal Reserve now. It actually turned out much better than I expected and I think I may end up really enjoying this job. I kind of hope that I'll get transferred from the night shift to the day shift though.
In any case, I have only one complaint about my job, and that doesn't even relate to the job itself. It's actually a complaint about the station that was playing on the radio all night. It's a shitty Clear Channel station - Star 106 "Pittsburgh's best variety" - where they play only the hits (move the "s" in "hits" to the front for their actual format). In any case, they currently have this special feature playing every hour on the hour where they give a brief update on the war in Iraq. Their tagline is, "we're keeping you updated on America's showdown with Saddam!"
Here's my two cents: isn't this war vulgar enough without making it sound like a WWE match? Only a huge corporate entity like Clear Channel and its affiliates would come up with something so crass.
