Re: 80s Night at Ceremony

Let me just say that 80s night at Ceremony fucking rocked! I admit, I love cheezy synthpop from back in the day when one had to actually play one's keyboard and physically splice tape loops. In any case, I hung out with missjoi (who was dressed like a voluptuous Madonna) for most of the night. She had wanted to dance, but we all know that the DJ never gets to dance...unless some freak like me invades the booth and starts getting funky.

A surprising number of people were dressed up last night, and showing up early. There were your standard Boy Georges and typical 80s camp outfits, however the costume winner hands down in my book was the girl dressed as Morissey. She had a Smiths T-shirt on, the weepy/faggy dance moves and even the rose bush coming out of her arse. She deserved a prize (and received one, from what I was informed).

Being the unfun prick that I am, I did not dress up, save a pair of armwarmers I dug up from the recesses of my closet. Those were stripped off halfway through the night as the humidity in the club reached levels that seemed to defy the laws of physics.

The only bad part about last night was leaving the club. From what I saw in Oakland, it is painfully apparent that Tom Murphy has laid off a few too many police officers. I hate college students...
