Songwise

I finally upgraded the copy of Fruity Loops that came bundled with my sound card. Now I have the ability to program stuff that can be exported to Audition as true Wave files. In any case, I've been using the software as a drum machine for the most part thus far, and I've been programming with a sound set based on the old 808 and 909 modules that were so popular in the 80s. I ended up with a rhythm that sounds like it should be in a hip hop song...yet it worked with the music I'd already written. I think I've just created post-punk hip hop!

Err...or I would have if DJ Shadow and RJD2 hadn't done something akin to that already (sans the name). Still, I'm excited; progress is being made. Ladies and gentlemen: it looks like there just might be new material from Illusion of Joy invading your headphones sometime this year.

Just don't hold me to it.
