This particular song was suffering from too much bass. Funny thing was that I hadn't even recorded a bass track yet, but once I did, all the low frequencies got together and formed a gang of nasty subharmonics. So, since I wanted to keep my bass track (which would be played high up on the neck, were it played on a real bass, rather than a synth), I spent about an hour playing the the graphic equalizer. My speakers no longer pop and buzz when I playback the mix, but now I have a bit of a headache. Time to close this session for the night and rest my ears. I'd like to work more, but if I don't give it a break, it'll end up sounding asstastic.
