I had decided by yesterday afternoon that I was going to go to Ceremony. Jolene Siana, a former student at a local university had written a book entitled Go Ask Orge. This book, as the title implies, is a collection of letters Siana had written to Nivek Ogre (of Skinny Puppy) during the late 80s. She was to be the guest DJ of the night, spinning tunes from when she was a college student and also sitting outside of the booth with copies of her book on hand.

I ended up going to the club with [livejournal.com profile] evilkellychan and a friend of hers. Kelly told me multiple times that it was the earliest she had ever arrived at the club. What can I say? I like to get my money's worth.

[livejournal.com profile] beeporama and [livejournal.com profile] siliconedreamer were the resident Night Shift DJs last night. Also in attendance were [livejournal.com profile] oneirophrenia and [livejournal.com profile] candyblades as well as [livejournal.com profile] bonamoz and her significant other who I ended up chatting with at length.

I did end up talking to Jolene Siana, the star of the night, purchasing a copy of her book and getting it autographed. She was quite personable, making the brief encounter enjoyable as we spoke of that "old Goth music" and how I'd found her on MySpace via the Illusion of Joy page there.

I ended up getting home quite late or early, depending on how you look at it. Strangely enough, I actually felt good after Ceremony, which is something I usually couldn't say at this point. There was a trip to Eat N' Park and then homeward-bound and bedways for myself.

I've only just started reading Go Ask Ogre.
