Of mastering and compression

The Forever Syndrome has made it to the mastering phase. I'm no longer mixing individual tracks - I'm trying to make individual tracks into a cohesive whole. This was easy to do with "A Place Outside" - the single, that is. Two tracks of essentially the same song will generally play nice together unless something has gone horribly wrong. Besides, not many people will be playing the single edit and the album cut back to back...unless they really want to hear the song twice without having to press that troublesome "repeat" button.
