Ann Coulter a plagerist?

So, it seems that right-wing psychopath Ann Coulter may not even be writing her own hate speech. This is according to an article posted on Gawker a couple of weeks back.

There is not a peep about this from the mainstream media, who seem content to let her masturbate over her new book: Tactless: The Church of Neo-con Harpies via her column. Annie, darling, I'd never pray for a book-burning, but in my darkest fantasies, I would like to see you strapped to a Gutenberg press as someone slowly twisted knob to lower the typesetting plate, crushing your skeletal body - like something one would read in a Poe novel.

In any case, the blogging world seems more abuzz about this than anyone else. Quelle surprise:

Rudepundit: Ann Coulter's Possible Plagiarism
Raw Story: Coulter 'cribs' adult stem cell treatment list from right to life group
Gawker: Shit Coulter Full Of Not Even Her Own
MSNBC: Ann Coulter accused of plagiarism (2nd article on page)

May I hazard the opinion that there is an article about this on MSNBC (the gossip section, by the way) because they believe it will drive more traffic to their site?

While I'd love to see little Annie burned at the stake for committing plagiarism, I'm not about buy her book and start paper-chasing to see what she copied from where. I don't have the time nor the energy for such shenanigans. Thankfully, there are probably plenty of college students out there who do - those that aren't getting alcohol poisoning or who haven't been brainwashed into becoming Young Republicans, that is. Also, I can't buy her book on ethical grounds: that would entail giving her money - my money. I have a thing against making donations to radicals bent on destroying life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (which probably means I should refuse to pay taxes, but this David would find himself facing Goliath without a slingshot). Besides, I've already pledged $50 to Ted Rall's "Sue Coulter" fund.

Slander and plagiarism? I bet little Annie was real charming on the school playground...

Last.fm: Day one

I've already encountered a problem with the Launchscrobbler plug-in (which is supposed to record what I listen to via LaunchCAST). It doesn't seem to be reporting anything to my last.fm profile. Or, it seems to be reporting - as indicated by the status messages - but last.fm doesn't seem to be compiling the data. I re-installed the plug-in, and the problem persists, so I suspect that it is a problem on last.fm's end, not mine.

Annoying, since I listen to LaunchCAST so much...

On the up side, the plug-in for Windows Media Player works perfectly and stops reporting when I tell it to as well (keeping your porn addiction a secret...until you post about it on LiveJournal). Unfortunately, since the other plug-in's data isn't being compiled, last.fm now thinks that the only thing I've listened to today is Ferment by The Catherine Wheel.
