Fury on the 42F
Apr. 3rd, 2007 08:20 pmStarting last month, reconstruction began on bridge which links one of the South Hills trolley lines to downtown Pittsburgh. This meant that a major link in the line had been severed, and barring the invention of levitating trolleys, no cars would be running on that segment of the line for the duration of the project. To make up for the lack of trolley service, busses and trolley shuttles were set up to run. In effect, the 42S line was replaced by the 44S, a trolley which runs on the portion of the tracks remaining open and allowing a transfer to the other line along with the 42F bus, which links the northernmost part of the suspended 42S line not under construction with downtown.
