One hundred days of Obama
Apr. 29th, 2009 06:15 pmToday marks Barack Obama's 100th day as President of the United States. As such, it is typical to reflect on what has and has not been accomplished in that time. While I am not going to remark on that aside from saying that while I don't think he's done a bad job, I don't think he's done a great job either I am going to watch his press conference this evening. I am a sucker for that sort of thing.
One interesting thing I read today was that some of the networks were grumbling that the President holds too many press conferences. Apparently whenever they broadcast one of these events, they lose advertising dollars. I can't say my heart bleeds for them, seeing as how they all have the option of following the example of the Fox network in refusing to air the press conference (thus allowing them to air the ads and collect the revenue). Either way, I won't be watching any of the major networks this evening, as I plan to watch Obama's press conference online. Given the choice, I prefer a President who comes out into the open rather than hiding in some undisclosed location.
Suck it, traditional broadcast media.
