Barack Obama won Wisconsin today, according to the skewed reporting of the Associated Press. I say skewed due to the fact that every news article I read regarding the primaries paints a loss by Hillary Clinton as the end of her campaign, which could not be farther from the truth. Obama may be ahead at the moment, but Clinton is hardly out of the running.

Honestly, I've kind of soured on Obama as the primary has wore on. Perhaps it's my dominant cynicism, but I just want to say to him, "well, you've got 'hope,' but what the fuck do you have after that?" True, it is par for the course for any politician, but his rhetoric just feels empty to me. Then again, I could just admire Clinton because the press has slammed her again and again and she has always come back fighting. The fact that the mainstream media has given Obama a free ride really makes me resent him a little. Yes, I am aware that these are gut reactions with no basis in who would logically make a better president, but that's just how I feel at the moment. I want to vote for Hillary Clinton to be president - not just a presidential candidate.

I won't betray my party and - worse - my country by voting against Barack Obama should he receive the Democratic nomination, however.

One thing that has really pissed me off this primary season is those fair-weather democrats who have said something to the effect of "if my candidate doesn't win, I'm voting for the other party." There's a word for these types of people: assholes. The republican party gives no quarter, and while they may seem ready to rip apart at the seams over John McCain right now, you can bet that once it comes down to the general election, they'll get their troops in line and show no mercy. Frankly, I will have no sympathy for any Democrat who crosses party lines in this election and helps another republican flush the nation down the shitter even further.

Do I think Barack Obama is the best person for the job of president? No, I don't. Hillary Clinton is the best qualified person for the job at this point. However, Barack Obama is a far safer bet when it comes to actually getting close to policies I want to see instituted in this nation than that creepy Bush-felator John McCain is. As I said, if Obama wins the Democratic nomination, I will vote for him in the general election and I won't begrudge him his win - once primary season is fully over and done with. Until all the primaries are finished, I am still pulling for Hillary Clinton. Likewise, I would expect that if Clinton wins the Democratic nomination, Obama backers would show the same decorum and good grace to vote for her once the general election comes around.

It's for the good of the country.

I admit it, I can't stand him ... I don't know what it is ... but I am not buying. Hilary is not perfect, but at least I know what I would be getting!
