I'll pound your pavement!

Thanks to George "Dubya" [Cocksucker] Bush and his great matmos of stupidity, the economy sucks to the point that when I called every temp agency that I had registered for to check in, they all gave me the same answer. Suffice it to say, this wasn't the response I wanted to hear, given my current situation. I also never imagined hearing it several times in a row in one sitting either.

Thus, I wish I could call up our "elected" officials, and say, "I'm sorry, we just don't have anything for you right now." Then they could go back home for the day and watch their bank accounts slowly dwindle to nothingness. Maybe if they had that to worry about, they wouldn't have hard-ons for bombing Iraq.

Me? Bitter? No...

Well, perhaps a little bit. I was chatting with a friend of mine online over the weekend, telling him about my situation. He asked me how I could be on the internet if I was unemployed, and I told him that I was using masochistmonkey's computer.

"What," he typed, "if you're unemployed, you should be hitting the pavement, not playing on Masochist Monkey's computer!"

I nearly bit his head off - at least as much as one can do via instant messaging: "I have been hitting the fucking pavement! It's not like I've been sitting on my ass whacking off here for the past two weeks!" Perhaps I shouldn't have been so harsh, but I felt as if my character were being attacked. That statement, to me, felt as if he may as well have said, "you don't have the work ethic to even try and apply for a job, so you don't deserve to be employed, because you'll just waste it and get fired anyhow." I know he didn't mean it that way, but I've been hyper-sensitive given the stress I've been under, and the amount of effort I have been putting in for such little return.

I'm finding it hard to relax and I really need to.
