Flirting...

I decided today to flirt with a girl in one of my summer classes whom I've been wanting to flirt with for a while. I botched immediately, getting her name wrong, but recovering by grace of everybody's unfamiliarity with their classmates. I then said, "I think you look really pretty."

"Thanks," she replied. Somehow this elicited a panic response in me and I immediately tried to justify my actions by saying, "Umm...I hope I haven't weirded you out or anything - I mean, these days...uh..."

She smiled and said, "You haven't weirded me out." The only other notable thing about her that day was that she went out of her way to say goodbye to me once class was out.

Tell me, how is it that I am seemingly Don Jaun undefeatable in a club in Pittsburgh, yet when faced with a classmate at my school I turn into a quivering mass of Jello? There's something not right there.
