From the manila folder marked "Bad ideas that will likely be employed despite the fact," comes Alexander Lavrynov's patented device for placing advertising in space. The article is from CNN, though I had to check twice to make sure I wasn't reading The Onion. In any case, it would seem that Russia has fully embraced the ideals of capitalism. Disgusting.

This is actually old news. The idea for billboards in space has been around for at least a couple of years. It can't be any worse than the good year blimp.

Besides, it might turn out to be a good thing. "Johnny, I think we're lost!" "It's okay, Jane, we'll just follow 'The refreshing taste of Coka-Cola,' and we'll be home by morning!"
