It's finally over! The Steelers lost the playoffs, preventing them from going to the Superbowl. I jump in jubilation to this defeat - no more stupid "Black & Gold" days! The cockiness of the fans and the team alike have lead to their defeat, and you know what - they fucking deserved it for being so arrogant!
Honestly though, I have nothing again The Steelers. It's football - a sport - I couldn't care less either way. If people want to waste their time with watching sports (when, let's be honest - most sports spectators would likely benefit more from actually playing rather than watching), that's their lot. I don't care. To each their own.
Some fans, however - particularly these fair-weather types just make me sick. They scream for the team and make a general nuisance of themselves when they are winning, but if the boys on the gridiron hit a bad streak, forget about support from these so-called "fans." Well, now you can all do back to whatever the fuck you do when your team loses. Go on and burn your "Big Ben" T-shirts and cry into your Iron City beers. I'm just glad that I won't have to be surrounded by this stupid citywide pep rally anymore.
As an aside, I bought a copy of today's Post-Gazette. Inside were two placards sponsored by a PNC Bank. Printed upon mildly sturdy paperboard in gold letters upon a black background was the phrase, "PROUD TO BE A STEELERS FAN!" In light of the team's loss, I briefly considered bringing one into work tomorrow and tacking it to the side of my box, just to piss people off. I won't, however.
