Where were all the police cars last night? No matter what day of the week it is, St. Patrick's day means rampant drinking. When I lived in Potsdam, I remember seeing the police out en masse, trying to catch motorists committing DUI/DWI crimes on that holiday. However, last night as joi_division and I braved the mean highways of Allegheny County, we encountered a plethora of drunk drivers yet not one police car. What the hell...?

Tonight, however Joi and I saw no less than three police cars along the roadway in what I call, "ambush position." That is to say, that they were partially hidden from traffic, in a good spot to point their radar guns and ready to give chase at a moment's notice. Why weren't they out last night, when driving was more dangerous? Were there suddenly quotas to fill tonight? Again: what the hell...?
