Not long ago, the faithful and idiotic were gathered beneath a highway overpass in Chicago to catch a glimpse of a stain which allegedly looked like the Virgin Mary. Today, engineers painted over the stain, which was recently defaced by an individual who used black shoe polish to write "big lie" over it. I say that this man is a hero to the world of common sense. Of course, we live in a world of delusion, so naturally he's being charged with vandalism. Even dumber is the fact that, according to the Reuters article reporting this incident, "Police did not say what the man's motive might have been in defacing the image." Is that not a big fucking, "DUH?" The guy was probably sick and tired of crackpots grasping onto straws and holding up traffic. This man doesn't deserve litigation, he deserves the key to the city.

If ignorant people want to believe in oil stains and watermarks, let them. Though, I do understand if it blocks up traffic, it's bad... but still. who really cares? Let them be idiots.

When people have complete faith in something, no matter how ignorant the logical world knows it to be, there is nothing that can stop them. I just want to know why this guy is getting charged for a crusade, when the city should be charged for letting the whole thing get out of hand. As a matter of fact, the city should also be charged with vandalism because they are the ones who didn't repair the cracks, and who's inferior architechure caused the stain in the first place.
