Is there no escape from "small town syndrome?"

I confess, I find Livejournal Connect completely enthralling. I know this lovely piece of coding has been around for a while, but I just discovered it for myself and have spent about an hour cycling through usernames. It shows how truly incestuous the Livejournal community is. I feel almost dirty; I actually did feel dirty when I entered the usernames of a couple of ex's and found out how close I still am to them, linkwise.

Egads! I should be sleeping, yet I am being distracted by shiny web objects.

My Current Purpose

Last night I had set my little analogue travel alarm clock on the other side of my room, the theory in doing so being that if I had to walk across the room to cease it's annoying little chirp, I would be less likely to go back to bed. While this theory has been disproven time and time again (probably because the chirp of that clock is not nearly as jarring as the buzzer on my clock-radio), I still place a grain of hope in it. What's life without hope, right?
