[livejournal.com profile] joi_division and I now have wireless networking in our apartment. This means that she'll no longer be begging to use my computer to check her email - she can use her own!

Also, I've encrypted the signal so only people I authorize can use it. Still, would-be WiFi hijackers still have four other signals in my building to choose from.

Wireless networking is the shizzy. Welcome to the New Milennium! :)

I'm proud to say I am the only person to possess WiFi functionality within a seven-mile radius of my home. And my net is so heavily encrypted and secured, none of these redneck dipshits can touch it!

With great networks comes great responsibility

If you really want to lock down the Wi-Fi, filter it by Mac Address (also known as hardware or device ID). This means that not only will one need to know the password to the network, but they'll also need a machine approved by you.

As a wardriver, I do appreciate the unsecured networks that dot this town. They are my plaything.
