I've actually gotten off of my lazy ass and started the process of wall-mounting my speakers. The whole setup involves an attachment on the back of the speakers themselves, which was easy to connect, and brackets on the walls. I'm sure that screwing in said brackets will be no problem, once I get the holes drilled.

Drilling into concrete and masonry isn't particularly fun, though it's not much different from drilling into wood, provided you have the proper drill bit. According to WikiHow, older concrete is harder to drill into. I live in a building over fifty years old which is made pretty much completely out of poured concrete. After half an hour, I managed one hole about one inch deep. I need four holes two and a half inches deep.

Did I also mention that I need to unplug my air conditioner in order to plug in the drill? Two reasons: I need the outlet and running both at the same time would trip a circuit breaker.

So, let's calculate: four holes have to be drilled, each of them at a depth of two and a half inches. It takes half an hour to drill a hole one inch deep. How long will it take to drill all four holes? Be sure to show your work.

The same time it would take to drill a ten-inch deep hole (if my bit were that long): five hours. Or, given how I'm spreading this project out...I should have this done next Saturday afternoon.

You should use a hammering drill, they go through concrete like butter.
