I don't get out much

I haven't really slept in much, despite being on break. There was Thanksgiving Day, but that hardly counts because I would have been off that day regardless. In reality, it's good that I didn't sleep in, else I'd be pissing and moaning even moreso about how I wasted my days off.

This morning, I actually ventured out into the world for bagels and coffee. I do so love those kosher donuts. When I was growing up, the cafeteria at my elementary school used to serve bagels with ham and cheese as one of the lunch options. At the time, I didn't think much of it, but looking back, I do wonder whatever possessed them to combine a bagel with ham, of all things.

At least today the temperature was above freezing. It's still annoyingly cold in the apartment, however. Even more annoying is the old wiring which won't allow for more than one portable heater to be running at a time. So, joi_division and I have been playing "timeshare" with the heaters in whichever rooms we happen to be at the moment. The plastic window kits have cut down in the drafts, but they don't provide much in the way of insulating power. I think I want some fibreglass window kits...

Spent the day on the internet, doing research. I'm beginning to think I need to pick up the phone more often and ask people if they want to hang out. I'm going to end up that old man in the dusty room who does nothing but read encyclopedias and newspapers all day long...except with an internet connection...
