Obsolete right out of the box

It looks like I'm going to have to upgrade my computer...or build a new one. I'd love to build a new one from scratch, but unless a lot of people donate funds to the cause, that isn't going to happen. So, it seems like I'm going to be looking into whether I can afford to upgrade to 4GB of RAM and a second hard drive or if I'll have to choose between the two. If it is the latter, I'm leaning towards the RAM - it'll make my Sims game run faster and I just might be able to play at the high resolution again.

Err...I mean, it'll make my multi-tracking software run better and aid me in recording and producing music! Yeah, that's it - I'm working on music, not playing The Sims 2 all the time...

RAM before HD, always. You can always CD/DVD archive those documents you have (if you opted for a CD/DVD burner).

If worse comes to worse, you can always choose to only upgrade the motherboard.
