Getting The Forever Syndrome noticed
Aug. 30th, 2006 12:27 amRemember that album I was working on? I now have a big box full of a whole bunch of copies of it sitting on the floor of my room. Since the release date is about a month away, I'm in the "promote and generate buzz" phase (which, of course, is slightly absurd as I don't play live and have become horribly reclusive).
So, may the deities bless the internet, for that is my main forum by which I pollute hearts and minds. If only those damnable websites would function properly...
Illusion of Joy's MySpace page now has four tracks from The Forever Syndrome available for streaming - which only took me seven attempts to get running as I expected and wanted them to. Oh, and I reconsider: only three of the posted tracks are from The Forever Syndrome. The version of "A Place Outside" on that page is the four-minute single edit, rather than the five and a half minute LP version. However, "Oblivion," "Shameful Ground" and "Michelle" are most definitely from The Forever Syndrome - no edits, remixes or other such trickery.
Though, I reserve the right to do all sorts of trickery with my songs in the future, should the mood strike me.
I was going to upload the entire album to Last.fm so people could hear the whole thing. Alas, their servers seem to be down. How annoying.
Coming soon: me sitting in the apartment, surrounded by bubblewrap envelopes and address labels. Yes, it is the ubiquitous "sending of the promos" or the "oh Christ, I hope that these fine DJs, writers and radio directors won't just see this as a new beer coaster" phase.
P.S.: That alluring visage gracing the cover of The Forever Syndrome is none other than
greywitch19 - who took the self-portrait, by the way.
