Is there really anything I can say about Bauhaus that hasn't already been said? This band is required listening for anyone headed towards "The Dark Side." Crackle is the singles compilation, of course, and sadly, the only Bauhaus album I own. In my defence, however, I have listened to the studio albums, and hopefully the CDs still reside in WAIH's archive room with my reviews and track notes safely tucked inside. Burning From The Inside was a personal favourite and anyone tuning into my radio show towards the latter half of my college tenure would have eventually heard "She's In Parties," "King Volcano," "Who Killed Mr. Moonlight?" or "Slice Of Life."

I first became aware of Bauhaus when a friend loaned me Press the Eject and Give Me the Tape among several other CDs for a Halloween radio show I was planning. As an interesting aside, I almost wish I could dig up my old playlists for WAIH just to track exactly how much more "alternative" my shows became as time wore on (and to cringe at the crap I played fresh out of high school). "Play 'Bela Lugosi's Dead,'" she told me, "that's the big one!"

I did as I was told. The music director was completely confused by what I had done with my show - "why aren't you playing 'The Monster Mash' or anything else fun? You can't have fun if you're dead!" No, you can't, but being undead, undead, undead is tonnes of fun. Thus, my decline into freakish, morbid weirdo continued...
