The last two states have their say...and nobody cares

The mainstream media is all but ignoring the returns from South Dakota and Montana's primaries tonight, opting instead to crow about how Obama has "clinched" the nomination. The propaganda machine formerly known as the Associated Press is even going so far as to state that Hillary is vying for the Vice Presidential spot. What Orwellian nightmare are we living in that it is acceptable to simply make up the news?

In case you care about what the last people to vote had to say, here are the numbers thus far:

	South Dakota (80% tallied)	Montana (4% tallied)
Hillary Clinton	56%	39%
Barack Obama	44%	58%

I'm sure the numbers for Montana will tighten up as more precincts report their numbers. A four-percent tally is hardly definitive.

I'll have popular vote totals in the near future. I may pontificate on the end of the primary at length at some point, but right now...just the facts.

I look forward to those popular vote totals to shove in my little brother's face. It's not really his fault. He's young and thusly easily swayed by pretty speeches. It's sad really. Obama is going to be the first politician to break his heart. My only question is, will he blindly follow like a Bushite making exscuses for his golden calf all the way to hell, or will he embrace the idea that the best politician to elect is usually the one that has spent more time doing and less time practicing verbal slight of hand.

That's my big issue with Obama's fans - the complete lack of critical analysis...just like with Bush, as you said. Granted, I've been lax on putting Hillary to the fire here, but I think several others have more than effectively done that for me, so I don't feel so bad about not being "fair and balanced" (besides, it's my journal).
