None of us can figure out why, but [livejournal.com profile] joi_division's three year old nephew has really taken a liking to me. His eyes light up whenever I go with Joi to her brother's house and he wants me to play with him and chase him around. When Joi and I left early this afternoon, he started crying because he wanted to go home with us. Of course, our apartment is hardly a good environment for a three year old - hell, my room alone is a huge death trap for any kid with tiny, curious and grabby hands.

In a sad comment on either my physical state or my reaction to the prescription I'm on, two hours with the kidlet left me exhausted. I ended up passing out on the bed, taking the kind of fully-clothed nap where one feels miserable waking up because 1.) One was fully clothed (boots and all) and 2.) Daytime naps where ones teeth aren't brushed lead to bacterial multiplication and consequentially, disgusting morning - er, afternoon breath. Now, I'm not in the habit of going to sleep without brushing my teeth, but passing out exhausted pre-empts that routine, which is terrible, as I get to taste what a Petri dish likely tastes of throughout the confines of my mouth.

No need to thank me for that mental image...

Moving on to other matters, there's a Cure tribute band playing tonight and I've gotten an invite to go out. I'm thinking of doing it, despite the fact that a Cure tribute band seem unnecessary, as the real Cure is still alive and well and touring and still releasing albums even. Maybe they're performing as an earlier incarnation of The Cure? It would be kind of nifty to see what might have been during The Head on the Door era, as I was only four years old when that album was originally released.

Anyway, like I said, I'm considering seeing the pseudo-Cure, which is to be followed by Ceremony - all at the usual location. Anyone else going? Comments? Send communiques via the usual channels.
