The Dark Knight - quick comment

Going to a movie theatre is a rare experience for me anymore. Not that I mind, seeing as how most of society seems now to consist of uncultured schmucks who do not grasp the concept of turning off one's cell phone or speaking only in whispers at a public screening. In any case, much has been said about Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker, and it is impressive the way he channels one of comic book history's most maniacally demented characters. However, I couldn't help but keep looking at the makeup job done for Harvey Dent (aka: TwoFace) post-mutilation. While I seriously doubt anyone could survive with that much viscera exposed (or if they could, be as functional as TwoFace manages to be), the makeup job done on Aaron Eckhart is seriously compelling. I couldn't take my eyes off it.

i think two-face's after-face was CGI. don't quote me on that, though, but i don't think makeup could do *that* much for the appearance of viscera and how the face moves.

i love this film and bought the DVD when it was first released. can't wait to watch it over and over again.

Joi and I were talking about it and we were thinking a little of both. In any case, if they can ever bang together a good Sandman movie, there's how one would do Mazikeen's (half) face.
