Starting at 10:00AM tomorrow, I will not be in my dormitory. Once again, Thanksgiving break has come and, as always, I can't stay on campus. This means that I get a week with the family, followed by two weeks back on campus, followed by a month with the family. This minor interruption of my time in the residence hall has never set well with me.
Then again, if I were to stay on campus with or without classes happening, would anything be truly different? I would probably get just as little accomplished on campus as I would at the house. On campus: I lock myself in my room and refuse to interact with the world. Off-campus: I lock myself in my room and refuse to interact with the world...well, I would lock myself in my room if my childhood bedroom had a lock.
Home or school? "Home" or "school?" It's all become the same, much like life in general - a blur of contempt and utter meaninglessness. To be brief, this is not the happy ending I seek.
