About a week and a half ago, I left work and walked to the Steel Plaza Subway Station to find a statue of a tyrannosaurus rex wearing a business suit and sporting a briefcase standing outside the entryway. It was a curious thing to see, especially at 6:00 in the morning, so I walked over to take a closer look. Protruding from the base of the statue was a pole with a plaque affixed to the top. Upon it was the name of the sculpture: "T. rex VP."

I would later discover that this sculpture was part of a series in a project known as DinoMite Days, sponsored by The Laurel Foundation and The Carnegie Museum of Natural History. If nothing else, this will give me a reason to walk around the city. Hunting dinosaurs is a worthy distraction in my book. I've found six thus far. Though I could "cheat" and find out where all of them are going to appear, it's more fun to try and seek them out by guessing where one will pop up next. I'll be doing that until the exhibit gets close to closing, in any case.

Yeah, most of the dinosaurs here are sponsored as well. Many cities have actually done the animal sculpture theme, but I still think it's neat to see it come to Pittsburgh.
