A black cloud
Jun. 29th, 2003 03:56 amAs fate would have it, I am no longer allowed to ask for rides home from any DJ at Ceremony other than
missjoi. It seems that whenever
dj_imperium gives me a ride home, the direct route to Mt. Lebanon is always blocked; i.e.: The Liberty Tunnels and Bridge. Tonight it was both, this time by a major accident on the bridge portion of the right of way. This lead to various failed attempts to find a way to get to my bourough. Understandably frustrated, Imperium exclaimed, "you must have a black cloud over your frizzy head or something - this always happens!"
He then intoned that I would have to take the bus henceforth, to which I gravely replied, "the bus stops running at midnight." I'll forgive him this time for coldly commenting, "then you'll just have to leave at midnight." Of this I am painfully aware, being reliant on Pittsburgh's unreliable mass transit system. There have been many times that I have left Ceremony before midnight in order to be sleeping in my own bed, rather than raped by the homeless as I attempted to walk back to my apartment (approx. 10 miles). If anything, I don't like essentially being blamed for circumstances outside of my control.
Such is life...I hope he was just in a pissy mood and didn't really mean what he said. Now that I've been thinking about it a while (dwelling, perhaps?), that really kind of hurt...
Otherwise, the night was pretty good. The girl actually made an appearance at the club tonight, so I got to dance with her a bit. She bowed out a bit early, another victim of Pittsburgh's mass-transit system.
The rest of my weekend (Friday night) was spent playing SimCity 4. Damn! I love this game...it's so pretty. Though, it is much more difficult to play than its predecessors. The main hurdle is budgeting, which they have made very realistic now. Time and time again I found myself trying to satisfy the civic needs of my municipality only to put my budget into a downward spiral from which there was no escape. Those budgets...they're tricky...
Oh, and I did do some more recording.
masochistmonkey is singing on one of the tracks from the forthcoming album.
Look at me! Look at me! ...marketing crossover appeal. Heh.
