illusionofjoy | The buck stops where...?

Those of you whom have been reading for a while are aware that my paycheque, which was supposed to arrive before my trip to Dayton, did not arrive in the mail. This left me in a mood describable only as "pissy" whenever I thought about it, so I endeavoured to not think about it. In any case, said paycheque (along with the paycheque I would have received anyway this week) finally came in, which would be great if it were still valid.

Being as the paycheque had taken over a week to arrive, I was concerned that it had become lost in the mail, so I contacted the temp agency to see what could be done about it. Ultimately, I had to fill out a form allowing for them to do a stop payment and reissue the cheque. All this happened the day before the cheque arrived. Judging by the postmark, which is for the day it was supposed to have arrived, I can only assume that there was some sort of problem in transit (in other words, the Postal Service buggered this one). I'm annoyed at this point because I have to wait even longer for money that should be resting peacefully in my account right now.

Hopefully this isn't going to happen again anytime soon. I need money if I am to travel. This month holds a trip to Northern New York for the wedding of a couple of friends of mine. Following that, I'm planning for a frugal October in order that I may travel to Boston sometime in November - something I've been wanting to do for months on end at this point.
