Debate watching?
Sep. 25th, 2008 07:20 pmThe Obamaheads are having a debate watching party at a local bar tomorrow. I only know this because somehow I'm on the mailing list for the local Obama supporters...which I don't ever recall signing up for. I'm infamously only supporting downticket Democrats (Steve O'Donnell for Congress - PA18), but should I go regardless? I'm always up for arguing politics, but the typical Obama supporter seems in need of a healthy dose of cynicism, if you catch my drift. Still, I'd like to see firsthand where the Democratic Party is headed; I care, when I really probably shouldn't.
Either way, I'd like to watch the debate (if McCain doesn't show, it will be amusing to watch Obama talk to himself), but
joi_division hasn't the stomach for politics that I do and I am sick of doing these things alone. So, should I risk mingling with Obamaheads, potentially risking my being sniffed out and called a racist and "closet republican?" Should I find some Pittsburgh PUMAs? Discuss...
